What We Do:
We provide free photography services when a baby has died or is expected to pass away. We can take pictures at the hospital or in your home.
Who We Are:
Compassionate professional and hobbyist photographers who are aware of the need for families to have quality photos of their baby.
What You Receive:
Color and black & white photos in a digital file delivered to your email. Several images will be ready within 48 hours and the remainder of the gallery within one week.
Families may initially find the thought of taking pictures of a deceased child unusual but we can confidently say that no family has ever regretted this decision. Sometimes parents do not look at them right away and others post them on social media immediately or use them for funeral/ memorial services. They become the most cherished mementos of their baby as these images prove their baby existed. Parents will never forget what their baby looked like and always want to feel connected to their child. Having pictures to hold close to their heart and share with others is part of the healing process.
Pittsburgh Bereavement Photography is a program of Pittsburgh Bereavement Doulas, a non-profit organization that was created in recognition of the need for specialized perinatal loss support for women, birthing people and their families. Our services are provided free of charge, without judgment and without religious affiliation. Our photographers are paid a living wage and if you would like to donate to our cause so that every loss family can be served, you may donate here.
