Grief Bowls – facilitated by Kiyomi Knox, MSW, AWBW Facilitator
Kintsugi is the Japanese practice of using a gold bond to repair broken pottery. The gold highlights the cracks and symbolizes the beauty that can exist in brokenness.
During this activity, participants are invited to break a bowl, representing their trauma and/or loss. They are then offered to put the bowl back together or create something new. Rebuilding the bowl allows participants the opportunity to give intentional space to their grief and feelings and process it in a physical and visual way.
Our monthly support group is for people who have experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons, or if your baby died shortly after birth. Anyone affected by this type of loss is welcome. Please click on the Eventbrite link for more information and please RSVP.
